Programme presentation. The educational activity of the Major Department in the area of training (specialization “Computing Machines, Complexes, Systems and Networks”) is based on the harmonious combination of academic and research work.
The activity of the laboratory “Modelling and Design of Information Technical Systems” allows doing research in the field of architecture and methods of high-performance computing systems design; digital image processing and pattern recognition; evolutionary modelling of information systems. Manuals and guidelines, developed by the teachers, al-low students to acquire knowledge effectively (including distance learning). This approach helps to develop further the staff and to involve young specialists in both rapidly evolving IT industry and research.
Postgraduates successfully defend their Candidate theses in the University and Russian Dissertation Councils.
Competitiveness of students. Every year students in this area achieve great results at forums, conferences, olympiads, they become laureates of the RF President and Government awards and successfully take part foreign internships. The graduates have repeatedly won the national contest “National Treasure of Russia” and their graduation works have been recognized as the best. This ensures persistently high competition of applicants for this area of training, and the average passing grade of the applicants is among the five highest in the University.
Interaction with employers. Joint work of the Department with partner enterprises of the Penza Association of Manufacturers and Employers and of the regional IT-cluster organizing in practices and performing research ensures 100% employment for senior students and graduates of the University both in the region and outside it.
