Achievements. For over 70 years, the faculty has trained over 7, 000 specialists: hygienists, epidemiologists, bacteriologists, health professionals who work in many regions of Russia and former Soviet republics. Among students and postgraduate students of the faculty are holders of scholarships of the RF President and the RF Government, the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, participants of research grant projects as part of the UMNIK and START programs and the program of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. Among graduates are many well-known scientists, public figures, heads of public health authorities and the sanitary and epidemiological service.
Teaching staff. Specialists are trained by the highly qualified teachers that have major-related professional education. Over 70% of teachers have academic degrees (over 10% are Doctors of Sciences).
Facilities and resources. Computer classrooms with internet access, lecture halls and specialized classrooms with discipline-related demonstration equipment, laboratories, practical skills training centers, teleconference halls. Students have access to the electronic library system.
Research. There are scientific schools in the fields of Hygiene, Epidemiology, Public Health and Healthcare, Microbiology and Virology.
Research is conducted in partnership with the hygienic research institute, public health authorities, and sanitary and epidemiological service authorities. The research findings help identify the causes of communicable and mass non-communicable diseases and substantiate measures to promote population health and improve the quality of medical education.
Education. Innovative active and interactive teaching methods, information resources and databases, electronic study guides and textbooks, multimedia and simulation equipment, laboratory practicals are widely used.
Strategic partners. The Directorate of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) for the Sverdlovsk Region, the Hygiene Center in the Sverdlovsk Region, Yekaterinburg Medical Research Center for Prophylaxis and Health Protection in Industrial Workers of Rospotrebnadzor, clinical hospitals of Yekaterinburg, infectious disease prevention centers, etc.
