Achievements. The program successfully underwent state and professional-public accreditations in 2018. It was evaluated as part of external and internal audits and recognized as compliant with the education quality standards of ISO 9001:2015.
Teaching staff. Training is provided by 15 Doctors of Sciences, ten Professors, 65 Candidates of Sciences. The educational process involves representatives of the Training Pharmacy of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the virtual learning hospital, the museum of medicinal plants of the Central Black Earth Region, the university botanical garden.
Facilities and resources. Modern laboratory facilities, computer classrooms with internet access, the Central Research Laboratory; six research institutes; the library with a stock of 700, 000 items of academic and scientific literature.
Research. Research areas: monitoring of antimicrobial resistance and rational antimicrobial therapy for urinary tract infections; identification of adverse reactions to some drug products and their pharmacological correction; study of pharmacological effects of known and new BAS with antioxidant properties; development of compositions and pharmaceutical manufacturing technology using natural raw materials.
Education. The teachers use novel educational models and technologies: problem-based techniques for giving lectures and performing seminars, group consultations, project activities, press conferences, etc. The educational process includes over 30 practical training facilities. Strategic partners. The educational organizations of the East-European Research and Education Medical Cluster: Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Yaroslavl SMU, Ryazan SMU, medical universities of Volgograd, Kazan, Belgorod, the regional office of the National Pharmaceutical Chamber, pharmaceutical companies.
International projects and programs. The university cooperates with Harbin Medical University (introductory internship for students), Kyushu University (joint study of molecular hydrogen action mechanism).
Students and staff participate in international conferences and forums (“Semmelweis 2019” (Budapest), the I China-Russia Forum (Harbin) etc.). In 2019 the university signed a cooperation agreement with Guangdong Pharmaceutical University.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. In cooperation with the International Institute of Medical Education and Cooperation the university holds the events that help students with their socio-cultural adaptation (the work of group supervisors and the national student chamber, co-education with Russian citizens).
