Achievements and awards. Professional-public accreditation certificate of the Medical League of Russia №024/18 of March 12, 2018. The report on external expert evaluation of educational programs of higher education. Order of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science №847 of June 06, 2018 on state accreditation of educational activities.
In 2019 the Department of Hospital and Outpatient Pediatrics organized and held a number of events for pediatric patients, students, pediatricians, child and adult population of Voronezh devoted to the World Kidney Day “Kidney Health for Everyone, Everywhere” with registration on the international interactive map.
Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 408 teachers including 62 Doctors of Sciences and 200 Candidates of Sciences. The faculty comprises 10 departments, five of which have clinical specialization. Students are also trained by 65 highly professional practical healthcare workers: medical directors and their deputies, heads of departments of inpatient and outpatient clinics.
Facilities and resources. The university has its own pediatric hospital, pediatric classrooms in the simulated-based training center, pediatric simulators, phantom and computer classrooms, classrooms with modern equipment.
Research is performed in various areas of pediatrics. The research topic "Creation of the system of early detection and prevention of renal injury in children with obesity of different etiology" received state support and was included in one of four research topics in the state assignments for VSMU for 2018-2020.
Education. The teachers introduce and apply innovative teaching methods including objective structured written tests, IT, flipped learning, etc. Students undertake internships at top medical treatment and preventive care institutions of Voronezh and the region.
Strategic partners. National Scientific and Practical Center of Children’s Health of the Ministry of Healthcare of the RF, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University, and other medical HEIs of the RF; the faculties of pediatrics of medical universities of Belarus and Tajikistan, Charité - Medical University of Berlin, Harbin Medical University.
International projects and programs. The departments constantly participate in international clinical studies (IV phase) in the field of pulmonology, nephrology, neurology. In 2018 Elena N. Kulakova, Associate Professor at the Department of Inpatient and Outpatient Pediatrics, took the 2nd place in the online competition organized by the International Society of Nephrology. Students have an opportunity to undertake summer internships at foreign clinics (Germany, China).
