Achievements. Since 2014 the program has been ranked among the best programs as part of the All-Russian project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.
Teaching staff includes Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Honored Science Workers of the RF, Honored Doctors of the RF, Honored Workers of Higher Education of the RF, laureates of the RF Government Award, winners of G.F. Lang, V.N. Tatischev and G.V. de Hennin prizes. The academic degree holders ratio is 75%.
Research. The university has 20 scientific schools. There are 47 research areas with a high level of originality in research. The scientists participate in international congresses and conferences, develop national program documents and clinical guidelines, take part in national and internationalmulticenter studies.
Strategic partners. Since 2015 the university has been a member of the Ural Research and Education Medical Cluster in cooperation with the universities of the Ural Federal District, since 2016 – a member of the Ural Research and Education Consortium of Biomedicine, Pharmacy and Medical Engineering in cooperation with Ural Federal University, institutes of the Ural Branch of the RAS, the BONUM Research and Practical Medical Center and the Ural Biomedical Cluster Non-Commercial Partnership. The university cooperates with top medical and preventive treatment institutions of Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Region.
International projects and programs. The university implements joint research projects with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Johns Hopkins University, Rockefeller University, Harvard Medical School (USA), Cambridge Institute for Biomedical Research (England), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), etc. Up to 15 people annually go to foreign clinics to participate in IFMSA program. Students undertake internships abroad, participate in international conferences.
Competitive advantages. Students undertake internships at the federal research institutes, multidisciplinary medical and preventive treatment facilities equipped with laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopic and other equipment, computer MRI scanners. The faculty implements continuing medical education programs.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. Since 2008 students from Norway, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Turkey, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland have been undertaking summer internships at the clinical facilities of the university. Since 2018 the faculty has been enrolling students from Cameroon, Morocco, Egypt, Palestine, Nigeria.
