Teaching staff. The fundamental character of training in the History is ensured by highly qualified teaching staff comprising 12 Doctors and Candidates of Sciences well-known for their research findings far beyond the Siberian region. Teachers involved in the program delivery are well-known for their scientific contributions; their research excellence is proved by numerous awards including the National Award of the Russian Federation in Science and Engineering, the Governmental Award, Demidov’s award, the Award of the RussianAcademy of Sciences.

Altai State University offers two more best educational programs in the field of Humanities:

University partners within the educational program. The faculty has networking cooperation with the State Archive of the AltaiTerritory.

Alumni’s achievements. Students of the faculty often win in national and international student’s academic contests and research conferences in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Saratov, Tobolsk, and Perm. The faculty’s prominent alumni gaining significant results in professional career include V.V. Snesar, Deputy Governor of the Altai Territory, G.P. Sheida, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Public Chamber in the Altai Territory; D. Kalyuga, Director General of the Moscow representative office of the German-Russian company, ColorExpert.

Facilities and resources.AltaiStateUniversity has adequately and sufficiently equipped facilities to offer students any kinds of laboratory, practical, subject-specific and cross-disciplinary training and research. On the territory of the university campus there are four dormitories for accommodating non-resident undergraduate and postgraduate students. In 2017 a new dormitory with a 1,000 place capacity begins operating. The university buildings and dormitories have Wi-Fi zones with free internet access.

Opportunities for students. Students are involved in the research activity right from the beginning of their studies at the university. Students also take part in carrying out research projects funded by the Ministry of Education, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the Altai School of Political Research, the Center of Economic History.

Employment prospects. Sixty percent of currently employed teaching staff graduated from the Faculty of History. Alumni from the faculty are also employed at other HEIs and research institutes in the AltaiTerritory and beyond, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, or even abroad in the USA and Germany. Skills and knowledge obtained during training enable historians to work in business, media and public companies, to take different positions including a HEI teacher, a public sector employee, an expert-analyst.
