Programme presentation. Establishment of the area of training “Information Systems and Technologies” in 2008 was determined by high demand at the labour market and the interest of school leavers. Training is carried out in the profiles “Information Systems and Technologies”, “Information Technologies in Design” and “Information Technologies in Media Industry”.
Within educational and research activity projects in graphic information systems, computer design, system and applied software, process modelling and programming technology are successfully implemented and information and programme support is developed. It is facilitated by up-to-date material and technical support of the HEI: training is carried out in IT centres of PenzSTU using remote and cloud technologies.
Teaching staff. During the last 5 years teachers of the Faculty of Information and Education Technologies have published 10 monographs, 40 articles in journals recommended by the HAC of the RF. Research was conducted within nine contracts and two grants of the RHSF to the amount of more than 15 million roubles.
For high professionalism, contribution and achievement in the development of Russian education and teaching skills the staff of the Department of “Information Computer Technologies” was awarded the diploma of the
Competitiveness of students. Every year students take part in regional Olympiads in computer graphics and are awarded diplomas of the national youth robotic festival “RoboFest ’2013”. 20 students are grant holders of the Russian President, 24 students have been awarded grants of the Russian Government. Student internships are carried out in one of the leading Russian HEIs – St.
Interaction with employers. Joint projects of the HEI and the regional IT-companies, successful positioning of IT at exhibitions and events create the foundation for the partnership of the Major Departments with potential employers. This ensures 100% employment of graduates and active involvement of senior students in the work at the partner enterprises.
