Programme presentation. The programme is implemented within the framework of the leading St.ˇPetersburg scientific pedagogical school in the field of information and telecommunication technologies. The bachelor’s programme includes two profiles of training: “Automated Systems of Information Processing and Control” and “Computer-aided design systems”. Graduates of the Faculty are skilled in industrial design, development and implementation of Computer-aided design, information processing and control systems on industrial scale. The master’s programme “Data Support and Software of Automated Systems” prepares innovation-active specialists, skilled in contemporary methods and in-formation technologies of synthesis and analysis of applied computer systems of different types for complex industrial objects.

Teaching staff. The Faculty’s teaching staff includes leading Russian scientists, who combine academic activities and research in the framework of the priority area: a correspondent member of the RussianAcademy of Science, a distinguished fellow in Higher Education of the Russian Federation, winners of the St. Petersburg’s Government awards, skilful pedagogical personnel with scientific degrees. The faculty invites teachers from foreign HEIs (Ruhr-Universität Bochum), specialists from international industrial corporations (KlöcknerPentaplast, Nordenia International AG, Pelzer HP).

Competitiveness of students. The highest level of graduates’ competencies gives them opportunities to become managers of major international projects and innovative IT-companies. The Faculty implements a double-diploma programme in cooperation with the leading technical universities of France (Ecole Des Mines D’Ales) and Germany (Hochschule Darmstadt, University of Applied Sciences, TU Dresden). Students participate in international educational, research and personalized scholarship programmes (DAAD, KlöcknerPentaplast, honored professor A.N. Chistyakov’s scholarship), win the “U.M.N.I.K” programme, St. Petersburg grants contest, international Olympiads in Informatics and Programming.

Interaction with employers. The faculty has over 40 affiliate agreements with the leading companies of the North-West Region in the field of chemical and food technologies, metal processing, machine and apparatus construction, IT: LLC “Virial”, OJSC “Severstal”, LLC “KlöcknerPentaplastRus”, JSC “Almaz-Antey”, LLC “North-West Energetic Company”, LLC “Kvadrat SG”, LLC “Gazinformservis” and others.
