Awards and achievements. The program has been ranked among the Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia since 2011.
Admission requirements. Applicants are admitted on a competitive basis, based on the results of their entrance exams in chemistry, biology and the Russian language (chemistry and biology for citizens of foreign states).
Education. State-of-the-art active and interactive teaching methods and learning technologies are widely used.
Foreign nationals are taught by the most experienced teachers. Students are socialized so that they can adapt to Russia and learn Russian, familiarize themselves with Russian culture, traditions and lifestyle.
Each international student group has a tutor who helps students solve their social, everyday and other problems. International students take an active part in the university and interuniversity sports competitions, student springs, national evening parties and festivals.
Scholarships and grants. While studying, students take part in the competitions to get the Russian President and the Russian Government Scholarships, get academic scholarships, including increased ones for academic, research, social, cultural and creative and sports excellence. Foreign nationals applying to the Institute can take part in the competition to get a state-funded place within the Russian Government quota.
Competitive advantages. Internships are undertaken at multidisciplinary preventive medicine organizations in the Samara Region. The university organizes educational internships and work placements for students in cooperation with Belarusian SMU, Tashkent SMU, Medical University of Innsbruck. SamSMU is one of 57 members of the Dentistry Research and Education Medical Cluster. Every year students undertake study placement at the University of Greifswald (Germany) and the Ivoclar Vivadent company under the supervision of teachers at the dentistry departments.
The university develops the system of continuing medical and pharmaceutical education, delivers continuing professional education programs.
Employers and employment. The graduate employment rate is 95%. The university’s cooperation with the top medical organizations offers students the opportunities to find a job in their degree field and improve their professional skills. Companies such as 3M, Ormco,
Oral-B, Colgate, ROCS, Dentspliy-Sirona, Rokada-Med provide state-of-the-art equipment and expendable materials to be used in the educational process.
