Accreditation. Professional–public accreditation (2021).
Awards and achievements. The program was ranked among the Best educational programs of innovative Russia in 2021. Students are winners of the Olympiads in epidemiology and disaster medicine, the All-Russian Ecological Dictation in the disciplines related to hygiene, practice-oriented competitions “I am a Professional.”
Teaching staff. The main educational program is delivered by 246 teachers at 38 departments. 86% of teachers hold academic degrees of Candidates of Sciences or Doctors of Sciences, academic titles of Associate Professor or Professor. Among them are board-certified doctors, Excellent Workers of Public Health, Excellent Workers of the sanitary and epidemiological service, Honored Science Workers, Physicians, Workers of Higher Education of the RF, laureates of the National Award of the Russian Professorial Assembly “Professor of the Year.”
Facilities and resources. Computer classrooms with modern licensed software and electronic library systems, specialized classrooms with multimedia equipment.
Education. Within the East-European Research and Education Medical Cluster in the Central Federal District, the university cooperates with I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, F.F. Erisman Federal Research Center for Hygiene. Practice-oriented training and project-based learning, participation in Olympiads, contests and conferences at different levels.
Research. VSMU has scientific schools developing up-to-date research areas related to preventive medicine. Teachers participate in international congresses and conferences, in the development of modern technologies.
Competitive advantages. The main work placement facility for students is the Territorial Directorate of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing and the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Voronezh Region. The university cooperates with the medical faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin, Charité University Clinic (Germany), Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany), Çukurova University in Adana (Turkey), Varna Medical University (Bulgaria), Harbin Medical University (China).
Employers and employment. The university closely cooperates with employers. The graduate employment rate is 98%. Students including those pursuing employer-sponsored education come from many regions of Russia and countries.
