Awards and achievements. The program underwent external expert evaluation (the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Center for Public Accreditation) and was recognized as the best program as part of the annual project Best
Educational Programs of Innovative Russia. BSMU took part in the independent and objective evaluation of students’ knowledge, co-hosted the Olympiad “I am a Professional.”
Teaching staff. The faculty comprises 16 departments that employ one Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Bashkortostan, 37 Professors, 30 Associate Professors, over 70 Candidates of Medical Sciences. Teachers are participants of international scientific
programs, members of Russian and international associations, editorial boards of medical journals, specialized dissertation councils, special academic and methodological commissions of the RF Ministry of Health, external experts of the Ministry of Health of Bashkortostan.
Facilities and resources. The departments, including five specialized ones, are located at the premises of the university clinic and the largest multidisciplinary medical institutions, pediatric clinics, and outpatient clinics in Ufa.
Education. Active and interactive teaching methods (computer simulations, business games and role plays, clinical case studies) are used. BSMU established the Federal accreditation center of the 3rd (highest) level for the acquisition of practical skills. Students have access to the electronic library systems. Training is provided at major medical institutions of Ufa with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
Research. Teachers and students actively conduct research in pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric surgery, rheumatology, endocrinology.
Competitive advantages. Educational internships and work placements at clinics are the most important link in training highly qualified pediatricians and in consolidating practical knowledge and skills in the future workplace environment. Training is provided at major
medical institutions in Ufa with state-of-the art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
Employers and employment. The major training facilities for students of the Faculty of Pediatrics are the Republic Children’s Clinical Hospital, the BSMU clinic, the City Clinical Hospital № 17 and children’s outpatient clinics in Ufa. Students can combine their study
and work as registered nurses, starting from the fourth year. Graduates are sought after by medical institutions in the Republic of Bashkortostan and outside it. They work at medical and preventive treatment institutions, research institutes, educational and social
institutions. During the COVID-19 epidemic, 357 five- and six-year students of the faculty underwent practical training as district pediatrician assistants at children’s outpatient clinics in the cities and districts of the republic. For selfless labor during the COVID-19
epidemic, five students received the letters of appreciation from the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, five students received the letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and five students received the letters of appreciation from the university rector.
