Awards and achievements of the educational program. This specialist program underwent international professional-public accreditation (Certificate 1341-08-A022.1 of March 21, 2014).

Russian Gnessin Academy of Music offers some more best educational programs in the field of Culture and Arts.

Teaching staff. Training is provided by outstanding musicians: People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor A.A. Tsygankov; People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor V.E. Zazhigin; People’s Artist of the Russian Federation V.P. Kruglov; Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor N.A. Komoliatov; Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor I.I. Senin; Professor N.I. Lips, and Professor A.A. Gorbachev.

Academy partners within the educational program. Novosibirsk Secondary Special Music School, Ufa Secondary Special Music School, Petrozavodsk State Conservatory named after A.K. Glazunov, Tambov State Musical-Pedagogical Institute named after S.V. Rachmaninoff, the Emilio firm (Germany).

Students’ and alumni’s achievements. Alumni are employed by the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after N.P. Osipov, the L.G. Zykina State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble “Rossiya,” the Academic Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments of All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company named after N.N. Nekrasov, Russian Gnessin Academy of Music. Students win the international and all-Russian competitions of folk instrument performers.

Facilities and resources. The dormitory is equipped with rehearsal rooms, a gym and an auditorium, and a sports ground. The technical and material equipment of classrooms for special courses complies with the established standards. There is state-of-the-art recording audio and video equipment. The library and record library fund related to the educational program is regularly replenished and completed with new print media, audio and video recordings. There are four concert halls: the Concert Hall, the Small Hall, the Chamber Hall and the Hall of Shuvalova Musical Salon.

Opportunities for students. Training is provided in cooperation with such famous ensembles as the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Russia named after N.P. Osipov, the Academic Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments of All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, the L.G. Zykina State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble “Rossiya.” The faculty students actively perform concert activities, annually participating in public concerts, musical competitions and festivals, perform research and methodological activities in regards to folk instrumental art, musical performance and pedagogy.

Employment prospects. Graduates can work as live performers, balalaika, domra or guitar teachers, within their degree field.
