Teaching staff. High-quality training is provided by the experienced teaching staff including nine Professors, six Associate Professors, five Candidates of Sciences, two Honored Art Workers, two Workers of Higher Education of the Russian Federation, laureates of all-Russian and international competitions.
Academy partners within the educational program. The Department of Choral Conducting maintains good relationships with all music educational institutions of Moscow; teaching internship is undertaken in cooperation with Moscow State Institute of Music named after A.G. Schnittke and with the State Academic Choral Chapel of Russia named after A.A. Iurlov.
Students’ and alumni’s achievements. The Full-Time Academic Training Choir and the Altro Coro Ensemble of Contemporary Choral Music are laureates of numerous international and all-Russian competitions. They actively participate in various concerts, festivals and other events. The fields of professional activities of alumni of the Department of Choral Conducting include academic choirs and vocal and choral ensembles, concert organizations and music educational institutions of any level, general education and culture institutions, creative unions and associations, culture management public authorities. They are also in demand as singers and choir masters in churches of Russia.
Facilities and resources. Non-resident students are accommodated in the dormitory equipped with rehearsal rooms, a gym and an auditorium, and a sports ground. The academy has all the necessary facilities to ensure high quality of the educational process: technical equipment and instruments, a sufficient number of educational materials, computers, a good library and a record library.
Students’ opportunities. Senior students undertake their performance internship in the State Academic Choral Chapel of Russia named after A.A. Iurlov. Students acquire scientific work experience participating in research conferences and seminars. The Department of Choral Conducting publishes monthly news bulletins about important events in choral art of Russian Gnessin Academy of Music and Moscow. It also hosts interuniversity student research conferences covering a variety of pedagogical and performance themes, with mandatory publication of a collection of articles with the conference proceedings.
