HEI’s image.AdygheStateUniversity is the only HEI in the region which harmoniously combines training in the basic study programmes in exact sciences and humanities. Pedagogical education in the sphere of culture and arts is an important area of the University’s activity.

Programme presentation. Delivery of the basic educational double degree programme in “Music” and “Further education in the Field of Specialized Musical Pedagogics” is based on the practice-oriented approach, determined by mastering performance skills, necessary for modern school teachers in Music. The Master’s degree programme “Musical Culture and Art” has been delivered since 2013. Special attention is paid to research into specialized musical pedagogics. Education in the profile “Fine Art” is aimed at the implementation of various methods of teaching in fine, decorative and applied arts as well as of the techniques of folk-craft in the educational process of schools.

The Pedagogical Education program is also offered by the Faculty of Pedagogics and Psychology, the Faculty of Natural Science and the Institute of Physical Education and Judo.

Teaching staff. The Programme is delivered by 22 teachers, including four Doctors and 18 Candidates of Sciences, three teachers with honourary titles of Russia and eight teachers with honourary titles of Adyghea. The teachers obtained grants of the Russian Research Fund in Humanities and the Russian Fund for Basic Research and participated in European conferences in Berlin, Vienna, Vilnius, Hannover, London, Prague, Edinburgh, etc. There are two research areas: “Integrative Pedagogics and Psychology of Art in Polyethnic Region” and “Artistic Culture of the Region”.

The teachers are honoured with numerous awards at prestigious contests (International Photo Contest “Berega 2012”, in 2013 and 2014, XIII and XIVˇ International Exhibition-Contest “International Russian Week of Arts”, Moscow; XIˇ Interregional Professional Contest of Works of Fine Art “Biennale – 2013”, Krasnodar).

Competitiveness of students is evidenced by the victories at contests in Albena (Bulgaria) in 2004 2005; Policoro (Italy) in 2010; Moscow in 2012 and Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky (Ukraine) in 2013. Graduates are demanded both in the region and beyond it. The best of them have honorary titles of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Adyghea and have been awarded prizes of the top national contests “Education” and “National Heritage of Russia”.
