HEI’s image. Bachelor and Master graduates from the programme “Psychology and Teacher training” are well demanded by educational institutions, Children’s development centres and family consultancy in the North Caucasus Federal District.

In 2014 the programme underwent the state and public accreditation; it also got a certificate confirming the fact of international external review of the programme’s quality.

Programme presentation. A systemic approach to the contents of the Bachelor and Master programmes combined with innovative learning and teaching methods allows students to develop necessary skills and competencies to work with gifted children. The pro-gram also features contemporary approaches in management in the field of education, teaching and learning, development of children and adults in different stages of their education and training.

North-Caucasus Federal University also offers a Bachelor's program in Pedagogical Education.

Teaching staff. Teaching and learning activities are organized by highly qualified teaching staff. Over 98% have Degrees of Candidates and Doctors of Sciences including 33% Professors, Doctors of Sciences.

The teaching staff annually update their pedagogical mastery by enrolling in further education courses. The high level of teaching is confirmed with numerous awards. International visiting lecturers from Italy are involved in teaching.

Competitiveness of students. The programme has a number of benefits for under-graduates. Thus, profound training in psychology and pedagogics guarantees a high quality of graduates’ work in different stages of education (pre-school, primary, secondary, vocational and higher education).

On completion of the network Master programme “Applied Psychology in Education”, students get double degree diplomas of the North-CaucasusFederalUniversity and SouthFederalUniversity. In another network Master program students get double degree diplo-mas from the North-CaucasusFederalUniversity and Sapienza University of Rome (Italy).

Interaction with employers. Leading specialists in the field of education significantly contribute to the process of education. Students have their on-the-job placements in such innovative educational institutions as Special orphan asylum school for children deprived of parental care (Stavropol), Health rehabilitating orphan asylum No 2 (Stavropol). In co-operation with other stakeholders the teaching staff of the programme organizes events that are aimed at resolving problems in education in the North Caucasus Federal District. These include conferences, contests, Olympiads, etc.
