Awards and achievements of the educational program. D.Iu. Levin, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor of the Department of Field Operation and Transportation Safety Management, won the IV international contest “University Book 2017” held by the Training and Methodology Center for Railway Transport.

Teaching staff. The teaching staff include 15 Doctors of Sciences, Professors; one Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor; 42 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors; 19 Assistant Professors. Nineteen percent of the staff are regular teachers, 10 percent are internal and external dual jobholders.

University partners within the educational program. The Research and Methodological Board for Technology of Transportation Processes Bachelor’s program at the Moscow State Automobile & Road Technical University, railway transport universities, the Russian Railways company, transport operator companies.

Alumni’s achievements. Bachelors graduated in 2016 and 2017. Nine of 27 alumni graduated with honors.

Facilities and resources. Bachelor students are trained in Rail Traffic Management using modern technologies and specialized information management systems. Laboratory practicals are done and business games are played at the Center for Train Traffic Dispatch Control. At the Center for Classification Yard Service Automated Control students master station process operations at CNC computer workstations of the Bekasovo-Sortirovochnoe automated workstation network simulator. To study transportation process management methods with simulation of automatic operational systems, the educational software environment has been created, which allows students to learn how to quickly search for required information and how to make necessary management decisions based on analysis of the information obtained.

Opportunities for students. Students can prepare scientific reports for international and Russian research conferences devoted to transportation arrangement and railway traffic control, participation in exhibitions, debates, seminars held by the Russian University of Transport, the Russian Railways company, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and transport companies, participate in university and interuniversity olympiads of graduation theses.

Students undertake an internship to acquire professional research skills and experience.

Employment prospects. Railway station duty officer, operator assisting to railway station duty officer, station technology center operator, switching foreman, transport management specialist at a freight forwarding company, production engineer, forwarding agent, technician at a scientific and engineering company.
