Awards and achievements of the educational program. The program was included in the Best Educational Programs of Innovational Russia 2015.

V.N. Morozov, I.N. Shapkin, V.N. Shmal, E.M. Kozhanov were awarded a merit certificate of the contest “University Book 2015” for the study guide “Intelligent Transport Systems on Railway Transport.” D.Iu. Levin, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor of the Department of Field Operation and Transportation Safety Management won the contest “University book 2017” in two categories: the Best Serial Publication (for a series of educational publications “Transportation Process Management Basics,” “Field Operation on Railway Transport”) and For Productive Scientic and Publishing Activity.

Teaching staff. Training is provided by the highly qualified teaching staff. The teachers have academic degrees. They include the heads and leading specialists of transport, transportation and logistics companies and research institutes: P.V. Baskakov, Director General of the Transkonteiner transport company; M.I. Shmulevich, Deputy Director General of the Promtransniiproekt design institute; A.P. Kuznetsov, Deputy General Director of the Institute for Problems of Transport and Logistics of the All-Russia Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of the Russian Academy of Sciences; A.F. Borodin, Head of the division of the Institute of Economics and Transport Development; V.A. Kobzev, a leading research officer at the Research and Design Institute of Informatization, Automation and Communication in Railway Transport; V.V. Panin, Head of the division of the Institute of Economics and Transport Development.

University partners within the educational program. The university cooperates with the Research and Methodological Board for specialist program in Railway Operation of railway transport universities (St. Petersburg State Transport University, Ural State Transport University, Rostov State Transport University, Far Eastern State Transport University, Siberian State Transport University, Samara State Transport University), with the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Russian Railways company, the Transport Service Center, the Transkonteiner transport company, the Russian Railways Logistics company, the First Freight Company, the Federal Freight Company, the New Transportation Company, the GEFCO logistics operator, the United Freight Forwarding Company, the RailTransAvto logistics operator, the Transoil and the LUKOIL-Trans transport companies, the Railway Transport Research Institute, the Research and Design Institute of Informatization, Automation and

Communication in Railway Transport, the Institute of Economics and Transport Development, the Russian Railways company, the Central Directorate of Traffic Control, a branch of the Russian Railways company, the Directorate of Traffic Control, centers of railway station service arrangement, the Moscow Metro, the Federal Passenger Company, etc.

Alumni are employed at enterprises of the Russian Railways company, and other program partners.

Students’ and alumni’s achievements. Student teams under the supervision of N.Iu. Lakhmetkina and A.S. Sinitsyna, Candidates of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professors, participated and took two first places and one second place in the third, fourth and fifth Logistic Open Tournaments (with English as working language), the second place in the international student research conference on the current issues of economics of knowledge and corporate management.

The outstanding alumni of this training program include P.V. Baskakov, Director General of the Transkonteiner transport company; E.V. Sturov, Head of the Central Directorate for Management of Terminal and Warehouse Complex of the Russian Railways company; T.M. Makhmudov, Deputy Director General of the Transport Service Center of the Russian Railways company; I.M. Iarikov, Deputy Head of the Central Directorate of the Russian Railways company; A.V. Ryzhenkov, Deputy Director General of the First Freight Company for Logistics, Head of the Logistics and Planning Department.

Student V.G. Sarsian was awarded a diploma of the UMNIK contest final (the research supervisor is V.N. Shmal, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor) in 2016.

Students of the author’s class “Range Technologies of Field Operation at the Network of the Russian Railways company” of the Railway Operation Program participated in the Sixth Youth Forum of the Central Directorate of Traffic Control.

Facilities and resources. The classrooms are equipped with multimedia. There are computer classrooms, a cooling laboratory, the Center of Multimodal Transport Systems. The Russian University of Transport has a dormitory and a clinic.

Students can join creative teams of the Palace of Culture of Russian University of Transport (all styles of dance, singing, theater, the Club of the Funny and Inventive (the KVN), etc.), take classes in the House of Physical Culture.

Opportunities for students. Students undertake their internship at enterprises of the Russian Railways company, at freight forwarding and transportation and logistics companies. Student have an opportunity to undertake an exchange study placement and/or study during one or two semesters in the European Union countries (Germany, France, the Czech Republic, etc.) and China. The Russian University of Transport participates in scholarship programs of DAAD, the Embassy of France.

The Linguistic Center of the Russian University of Transport provides further professional training in the Interpreter in the Field of Professional Interaction program. Students can receive supplementary professional education according to the author’s class technology at the initiative of and on the subject proposed by the Central Directorate of Traffic Control, a branch of the Russian Railways company.

Transport service center agent, process engineer, design and planning engineer, safe railway operation engineer, deputy station master for freight operation and commercial work, station master, commercial inspector, safety supervisor, logistics expert, head of a freight forwarding or transportation and logistics company, station duty officer, traffic supervisor (transportation operational dispatch management specialist), shunting operator, head of a transportation management center, research staff member at scientific and engineering companies, teacher at a railway transport college, department assistant at a transport university.
