Awards and achievements. The university research groups annually win grants of different levels such as grants from the President of the Russian Federation, grants from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the Russian Science Foundation, etc.
Teaching staff. Training is provided by 197 Sc.D.-s and 364 PhD-s. The teaching staff includes four Russian Academy of Sciences experts, two members of expert councils of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, 22 academicians, Corresponding Members and Professors of 15 international, foreign, and Russian civic academies, 24 Honored Doctors of the RF.
Facilities and resources. Training is provided at 47 clinical departments, in 16 educational buildings, and at 1,166 medical institutions that concluded agreements with the university for giving specialized practical classes.
The university's scientific infrastructure is developing rapidly. RyazSMU sets up new multifaceted and (or) integrated research laboratories for external users, thus accumulating expensive state-of-the-art equipment.
The university has an opportunity to invest in its development, which is confirmed by the transformation of the central research laboratory, setting up a cell technology laboratory, certification of the hematology laboratory in the Russian accreditation system, setting up an experimental dentistry laboratory and a laboratory for analyzing pharmacokinetics of medicinal products, the quality of medicinal products, drug dosage forms.
Education. The university diversifies areas of educational services, expands the range of paramedical study areas (high-tech applications, practical training), implements the unique three-level training system (from in vitro level to surgical simulators and the WetLab operating theater). It develops a personalized educational path system at all education levels, modernizes “classical medical” education through the system of synergetic combination with an opportunity to establish new departments, laboratories, research centers.
Strategic partners. The university cooperates with well-known foreign and Russian universities and research institutions specializing in various areas, including the institutions that conduct clinical studies. Acting within national project paradigms, the research and education space of the Ryazan Region is restructuring on a deeper scale. The university became a part of the Science and Technology Consortium established with support from the Ryazan Region Government. This consortium is an example of such educational "restructuring."
International projects and programs. The faculty develops international relations as part of cooperation with academic student and staff mobility partners under IFMSA-HCCM programs.
Competitive advantages include a high level of graduates’ competence. The educational process is based on three pillars: transparency, inspection, and adaptation.
