Achievements. Among students and PhD students of the faculty are holders of scholarships of the RF President and the RF Government, the Sverdlovsk Region Government, participants of research grant projects as part of the UMNIK and START programs and the program of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
Among graduates are many well-known scientists, public figures, heads of public health authorities and the sanitary and epidemiological service.
Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 128 teachers. Over 15% have an academic degree of Doctor of Sciences.
Facilities and resources. Students do practical training at the Rospotrebnadzor organizations studying fundamental technologies, procedures and analytical programs. Both laboratory resources and sanitary service capabilities are used for training.
Research. There are scientific schools in the fields of Hygiene, Epidemiology, Public Health and Healthcare, Microbiology and Virology.
Research is conducted in partnership with hygienic research institutes, public health authorities, and sanitary and epidemiological service authorities. The research findings help identify the causes of communicable and mass non-communicable diseases, substantiate measures to promote population health, and improve the quality of medical education.
Education. A high level of scientific and pedagogical qualification allows teachers to make full use of innovative active and interactive teaching methods, information resources and databases, electronic study guides and textbooks, multimedia and simulation equipment, laboratory practicals.
Strategic partners. Most of the research is conducted to benefit practical medicine in cooperation with the universities in the Ural Region.
International projects and programs. The university researchers implement joint projects with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston), Johns Hopkins University (Maryland), Cambridge Institute for Biomedical Research (England), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), etc., WHO’s European Office for the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases.

Practical training facilities are federal research institutes, the Rospotrebnadzor's Yekaterinburg Medical Scientific Center for Preventive Healthcare and Health Protection of Industrial Workers, clinical hospitals in Yekaterinburg, center for preventive healthcare, prevention of communicable diseases, health centers.
The university has a well-developed system of continuing medical and pharmaceutical education, delivers CPE programs.
