Teaching staff. The program is delivered by over 450 teachers, including 95 Doctors of Sciences, 269 Candidates of Sciences. The staff includes an Academician of the RAS, a Professor of the RAS, five Honored Science Workers of the RF, seven Honored Doctors of the RF, four laureates of the RF National Award, four laureates of the RF Government Award, current heads of relevant authorities and organizations of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).

Facilities and resources. Training is provided in six educational buildings, ten clinical departments at the university clinics, the Directorate of Rospotrebnadzor for the Samara Region, and the multidisciplinary accreditation and simulation center.

Research. SamSMU has 16 academic schools. The Institute of Preventive Medicine provides training for PhD students in five specialties, including hygiene, public health and healthcare, as well as occupational health. The research conducted as part of the institute's research areas has a high level of originality.

Education.  Vertical integration of basic, clinical and preventive medicine disciplines, practice-oriented and modular training, active and interactive teaching methods, simulation technologies (computer-aided dummy robots, virtual simulators), the modern assessment system (multiple-choice questions-MCQ, a mini-clinical examination, an objective structured clinical examination-OSCE); collaboration with the Center for Breakthrough Studies of SamSMU, the Technopark, as well as research and education centers.

Strategic partners. Most of the research is conducted to benefit preventive medicine in cooperation with such institutions as Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, I.M. Sechenov First Moscow SMU, Saratov SMU named after V.I. Razumovsky, Orenburg SMU, Bashkir SMU, аs well as the Research Institute of Hygiene and Health Protection of Children and Adolescents National Medical Research Center of Children's Health, and the Federal Research Center of Nutrition, Biotechnology and Food Safety.

Competitive advantages. The Institute of Preventive Medicine implements the system of multi-level training for preventive medicine specialists, including not only preuniversity and pre-graduate education, but also accreditation preparation, residency, as well as continuing professional education as part of continuing medical education.

International projects and programs. The institute seeks international cooperation for sharing experience in preventive medicine. The best students undertake internships at foreign institutions as part of the IFMSA program.
