Popularization and promotion of the Russian language in Russia and across the globe
Since 2011 the federal target program «Russian language» has provided a great number of diverse events aimed to popularize and promote the Russian language and historical and cultural heritage of Russia in general.
Preservation and development of social culture, civil self-identity is a prerequisite for sustainable social and economic growth of the country. The Russian language is an integral part of Russian culture. It is the most widespread language in Europe by the number of native speakers, and the most widespread Slavic language in the world. Nevertheless, popularization and promotion of the Russian language is one of the state's priority tasks.
Since 2011 the federal target program «Russian language» has provided a great number of diverse events aimed to popularize and promote the Russian language and historical and cultural heritage of Russia in general. A series of articles will cover some of these events that already took place in 2018 and are scheduled for 2019.
This project is implemented as part of the subprogram «Development and promotion of the Russian language as a basis for self-identity and a language of international dialogue («Russian language»)» of the main event «Development of open education in Russian and Russian language teaching» and the main event «Major socially important events aimed to promote the Russian language» of the state program of the Russian Federation «Education Development».
