Awards and achievements. The program has been listed numerous times among Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia. As part of the program the project "Next Generation Social Care Teacher and Educational Psychologist" was supported by the Presidential Grants Foundation. Following this several students and teachers became laureates of the third International contest of students, postgraduate students and Master's students in the category of Professional Focused Competencies.

Teaching staff. Training is provided by 5 PhD Habils and Professors, 27 PhDs, Associate Professors, the Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation and visiting specialists, including the RAE Academician, the RAE Corresponding Member, winners and participants of the all-Russian and regional contest “Social Care Teacher”.

Facilities and resources. The university has a computer system for testing and developing a person's psychophysiological characteristics.

Research. The most promising research areas include:

• psychosocial prevention of extremism and terrorism in adolescents and youth;
• psychosocial design of safe learning environments;
• gender transformations in contemporary society;
• xenophobia risk management and development of tolerant attitudes;
• psychological and pedagogical support for social inclusion;
• network building for caring profession members (teaching, medicine, etc.) as a resource for their professional and personal development; social resilience of Russian youth as an important area of strategic interest; and prevention of addictive behaviors.

Education. Teachers use state-of-the-art educational models and strategies including: problem-based and interactive learning, business games and role plays, workshops, project activities, and case studies.

Strategic partners. The RAS Institute of Psychology, RAE Psychological Institute, Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, Institute of Sociology of the Belarus National Academy of Sciences, Yerevan State University, St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo Faculty of Psychology (Bulgaria).

International projects and programs.

• "Spiritual and Moral Education in the System of Training of State and Municipal Attendees" (Armenia)
• "Spiritual and Moral Education of Young Students" (Bulgaria, Serbia); and
• "Development of Young People's Social Resilience" (Belarus).

Competitive advantages. Highly qualified teaching staff (many of whom are ranked among the best teachers and leading psychologists of Russia); two scientific schools: Psychology of Spirituality; and I.P. Bashkatov School.
