The specialists in these fields are in demand in the world scientific community and at many enterprises in Russia and abroad.
Programme presentation. The research themes of the department’s students are in line with the investigations of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The students obtain knowledge required in the field of advanced technologies and science-intensive manufacturing. The Department’ graduates have been actively involved in the following scientific developments: in the field of medicine, nanotechnologies and X-ray technologies – light-dose digital X-ray equipment, nuclear-physical methods of cancer treatment, creation of the new generation of drugs based on nanotechnologies; in the field of counter-terrorism security systems – the latest technologies based on synchrotron radiation, etc.
Novosibirsk State Technical University offers two more best educational programs in the field of Physical and Mathematical Sciences:
Teaching staff. The teaching staff includes nine Doctors of Sciences, seven Candidates of Sciences, one Academician of RAS. All of them are active researchers and heads of re-search groups and departments in the institutes of RAS. Development of the educational programmes in conducted with the immediate participation and under supervision of the leading scientists who are also representatives of potential employers.
Competitiveness of students. The Department trains physicist engineers for a range of industries. The students are oriented to creative research work. The third year students have practical training in the laboratories of the base institute – the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of RAS, they do course projects and graduate qualification papers and then defend Master’s dissertations.
The graduates of the study programme are in demand at the industrial enterprises and in the companies engaged in the development, maintenance, service and repair of equipment.
