Programme presentation. A combination of a fundamental mathematical and an enhanced specific education is a key to success of a prospective specialist.

A graduate with a qualification “Mathematician, system programmer” is prepared mainly to carry out research activities in the spheres of applied mathematics and computer technologies and to develop and implement modern mathematical methods and soft-ware for tasks solution in science, engineering, economics and management.

Students are provided with a wide range of specializations (pro files) covering such areas as numerical computation of dierential equations in hydrodynamics and continuum mechanics, mathematical economics and others. In the framework of this educational Programme, students may get further education in the programme “Teacher of Informatics”.

Kemerovo State University offers one more best educational program in the field of Physical and Mathematical Sciences:

MATHEMATICAL SUPPORT AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION - Bachelor’s program, Specialist’s program

Teaching staff. The following departments take part in the implementation of the Programme: the Department of Computing Mathematics, the Department of Dierential Equations, the Department of Research Automation and Technique Cybernetics and the Department of Mathematical Cybernetics. The teachers have basic education corresponding to the pro file of the disciplines and carry out research activities on a regular basis. Over 67% of the teaching staff have academic degree of a Candidate or a Doctor of Science.

The supervisors of diploma projects are qualified specialists in the sphere of applied mathematics with a broad experience in the supervision of research work of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Competitiveness of students. Students acquire fundamental training in major mathematical disciplines. That is why they can master new software, create mathematical models of dierent processes and feel competent in the changing world of information technologies. Students have been prize winners in dierent competitions and Olympiads of the national and regional levels.

Interaction with employers. During the implementation of the Programme, the Faculty established cooperation with organizations and institutions, which use computer and information technologies in their activities.
