Programme presentation. Education of bachelors in economics is carried out in the following main areas: Regional Economics, Business Economics, Accounting and Audit, Finance and Credit. There is a network Master’s programme in Economy and Establishing Branch Markets jointly with St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation and MagnitogorskStateTechnicalUniversity. Heads and specialists of the city’s leading enterprises are engaged in the delivery of the study programme. They take part in conferences, seminars and design sessions for students.

Major departments offer joint projects with the Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering of the Siberian Branch of RAS, with the universities of Germany, CzechRepublic, Great Britain, Romania, China, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. There is Research School of Institutional Economics and Economic Policy and Research and Education Centre for Economic and Institutional Development.

Graduates can take a post-graduate course in Economics and a further education course at the Training and Methodological Centre for accountants and auditors.

Teaching staff. Major departments are composed of 8 professors and 56 associate professors, including scientists of the Siberian Branch of RAS and practicing professionals. The teaching staff regularly do internships in the leading universities and research institutions of Russia and foreign countries. The teachers’ research papers are cited in the national and international bases: RSCI, SCOPUS, Springer, Thomson Reuters, etc.

Competitiveness of students. The Unified State Examination grade point average of the applicants enrolled for the study programme on the contractual basis is 192. The students win prizes in Olympiads, competitions and projects in Russia and abroad. During the course of studies students have work experience and participate in exchange programmes with foreign partner universities.

Interaction with employers. Training is performed in close interaction with the region’s enterprises; among partner-employers being administrative bodies, industrial enterprises service sphere businesses, transportation and logistics complexes, consulting and audit firms, credit institutions and banks, insurance companies. Graduates, as a rule, take administrative and top managerial positions, work as chief accountants, analysts, and auditors.
