Accreditation. State accreditation (Certificate № 2943 of November 14, 2018). Professional-public accreditation (the Medical League, Certificate № 034/19 of December 20, 2019).
Awards and achievements. The program has been recognized as the best educational program of innovative Russia since 2016.
Teaching staff. All teachers have basic major-related education and (or) academic degrees. More than 65% of the teaching staff hold academic degrees, and 61 teachers hold an academic degree of Doctor of Sciences. Heads and senior employees of specialized organizations are also engaged in the teaching process.
Facilities and resources. The university’s dental clinic, the faculty’s practical skills center, the dental manufacturing facility allow students to acquire professional skills individually.
Education. Dentists are trained according to the professional standard, with subsequent specialization in the following main areas: dental therapy, dental surgery, orthopedic and pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and maxillofacial surgery. State-of-the-art educational
technologies such as distance learning technologies, e-learning systems, e-learning resources, and business games are widely used. The faculty accumulates active and innovative approaches of academic, information and communication, activity, and practice-oriented
training.
Research is conducted on cross-cutting and industry-specific themes in the following areas: combined therapy and rehabilitation in patients with dental pathology; etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinical findings, treatment and prevention of periodontal diseases;
treatment of dental pathology burdened with somatic diseases; head morphology and morphogenesis, preventive dentistry and public dental health; skeletal orthodontic support.
Competitive advantages. The faculty boasts highly qualified teaching staff representing a full-fledged academic school and well-equipped facilities and resources.
Employers and employment. Graduates are employed according to the approved career guidance event program agreed upon with the Ministries of Health of the Saratov Region, Penza, Voronezh, Bryansk, Moscow, Ulyanovsk Regions, and other regions of Russia. SSMU takes an active part in the “Rural Doctor” and “Territorial Doctor” projects. The faculty has concluded employer-sponsored education agreements with the Federal Clinical Research Center of the Federal Medical & Biological Agency (FMBA), the Medical Service of the system of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
