Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020 and professional-public accreditation in 2017.
Achievements. Participation in the UMNIK projects, R&D conducted jointly with the enterprises in the Stavropol Territory.
Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 11 teachers, including four employers. Over 20% hold an academic degree of Doctor of Sciences. The faculty develops academic staff mobility. The researchers from Russia and Slovenia are engaged in the teaching process.
Facilities and resources. The faculty has the accreditation center and specialized equipment and software. Simulation technologies are used.
Education. E-learning and classroom studies are combined with the rating technology and information platforms.
Research. Researchers participate in international congresses and conferences and in developing state-of-the-art technologies. The university established the methodological school “Fundamental Problems of Medicine and Pharmacy.” Research is conducted in the
area “Clinical pharmacological research on the activity of medicinal products and new biologically active compounds.” The research topics are gender and circadian differences in the effectiveness of mind-altering drugs; pharmacoepidemiological research on the use of medicinal products; the study of the effect of social factors on the effectiveness of psychotropic medications.
Student science clubs:
1. Biotechnology of the Future (screening of plant-based biologically active compounds promising for pharmaceutical biotechnology; development of film materials for creating transdermal systems; development of technology and pharmacological studies of liposomal drugs)
2. Panacea (non-conventional dosage forms made from medicinal plant raw material; homeopathy and allopathy—myths and reality; the study of next-generation transdermal systems)
Competitive advantages. Students undertake internships at scientific and production multicorporate enterprises, pharmacy chains, and pharmacies fitted with laboratory and business equipment, computer databases and specialized software. The faculty develops the system of continuing medical and pharmaceutical education, delivers continuing professional education programs.
Strategic partners. Most of the research is conduced to benefit industrial pharmacy and in cooperation with institutions and universities of the Stavropol Territory, including NPK ESCOM, PULSE, and others.
