Accreditation. State accreditation (Certificate № 2943 of November 14, 2018). Professional-public accreditation (the Medical League, Certificate № 034/19 of December 20, 2019).
Awards and achievements. The staff members of the faculty departments are winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian contest for young teachers; eight people became laureates of the Vysota award for the best university teachers. Every year research papers are awarded winner and prize-winner certificates of the all-Russian contest “University Science Relay Race.” The clinics are included in international databases, and specialized departments conduct multicenter studies of drug products.
Teaching staff. The training process involves 50 departments. More than 65% of teachers hold academic degrees, 15% of them are Doctors of Sciences.
Facilities and resources. Students have access to the electronic educational portal and the electronic library systems Student’s Consultant and IPRbooks. The university has an anatomy museum, two anatomy rooms, a dissecting room, the laboratories of biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology, and an accreditation and simulation center. The clinical departments have well-equipped consulting and imaging rooms.
Education. Teachers use active simulation and non-simulation teaching methods, context-based learning, searching and research teaching methods.
Research. The main research area is maternal and child health protection: fundamental scientific and clinical aspects of etiopathogenesis and creation of innovative technologies for diagnosis and treatment and specialized care and disease-prevention services for children with infectious and non-infectious diseases.
Competitive advantages. The university has its own clinical multidisciplinary facility that includes a well-equipped accreditation and simulation center. There are leading scientific schools of pediatrics, infectious diseases in children, and pediatric surgery.
Employers and employment. Graduates are employed according to the approved career guidance event program agreed upon with the Ministries of Health of Saratov, Penza, Voronezh, Bryansk, Moscow, Ulyanovsk Regions, and other regions. SSMU takes an active
part in the “Rural Doctor” and “Territorial Doctor” projects. In 2021, all 179 graduates of the Faculty of Pediatrics were sent to their places of employment, and 153 of them have an official confirmation.
