KFU is Russia's leader in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings’ table for education. This university has joined the ranking in the 101-125 band. It makes KFU the highest-ranked Russian newcomer in the table. HSE has become the first Russian university to feature in the top 150 best universities for the social sciences. HSE also shares the 101-125 band with MSU in the Business and Economics rankings table this year. Two Project 5-100 institutions are in the global top 100 for physical sciences. MIPT has retained a top 50 position in this subject, MEPhI has risen to 78th, and MSU has reach joint 96th place.
The subject tables employ the same range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings, brought together with scores provided under five categories. However, the overall methodology is carefully recalibrated for each subject, with the weightings changed to suit the individual fields.
