Current position in rankings. The university was ranked 9th in the annual ranking "Top 10 Medical Universities in Russia" by RAEX (2018) and 68th in the ranking of Russian HEIs by RAEX (2018).
Achievements and awards. For 70 years, the faculty has trained over 7,000 specialists: hygienists, epidemiologists, bacteriologists, health professionals. Students and postgraduate students include holders of scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, participants of research grant projects as part of the UMNIK and START programs and the program of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
Teaching staff. Over 70% of the teaching staff have academic degrees. Over 10% are Doctors of Sciences. The teaching staff includes members of the educational and methodological association for medical and pharmaceutical education of Russian HEIs, chief external experts of the Ural Federal District, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Sverdlovsk Region.
Facilities and resources. The university has computer classrooms with access to the Internet, lecture halls and specialized classrooms with discipline-related demonstration equipment; laboratories, practical skills training centers, teleconference halls. Students have access to the electronic library system.
Research. There are scientific schools in the fields of Hygiene, Epidemiology, Public Health and Healthcare, Medical Microbiology. Research activities are carried out in partnership with the hygienic research institute, health and sanitary and epidemiological service authorities. The research findings help identify the causes of communicable and mass non-communicable diseases.
Education. The university widely uses innovative methods, active and interactive forms of learning activities, information resources and databases, electronic study guides and textbooks, multimedia and simulation equipment, laboratory courses. Students participate in subject olympiads, carry out research and volunteering activities, participate in socially important projects.
Strategic partners. The university cooperates with the authorities and organizations of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing including the Directorate of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing for the Sverdlovsk Region and the Hygiene Center in the Sverdlovsk Region.
