Teaching staff. The five departments of dentistry employ 16 Professors, 18 Associate Professors and over 30 Assistants, Candidates of Medical Sciences. Over 94% of the teaching staff have academic degrees.

Facilities and resources. The university facilities include six academic buildings for theoretical training, ten lecture halls, over 100 well-equipped classrooms, two libraries, a reading hall, PC with access to the core library resources, access to the full-text databases: the e-library system “KnigaFond,” the e-library system “Students’ Consultant. E-library of a healthcare university,” the legal reference system “Consultant Plus.”

Research. There are two cross-cutting themes of research including discipline-specific and comprehensive programs: "Etiology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, peculiarities of clinical progression of dental diseases. Prevention, diagnosis, development of treatment and rehabilitation methods" (the work is conducted in cooperation with the Central Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, Moscow); "Peculiarities of treatment and rehabilitation of dental patients affected by general somatic diseases" (the work is conducted in cooperation with Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov).

Education. State-of-the-art active and interactive learning methods and technologies are widely used.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov, Pavlov First State Medical University of St. Petersburg. The companies such as 3M, Ormco, Oral-B, Colgate, ROCS, Dentspliy-Sirona, Rokada-Med provide state-of-the-art equipment and expendable materials to be used in the educational process. Samara State Medical University is one of  57 members of the Dentistry Research and Education Medical Cluster.

International projects and programs. Belarusian State Medical University, Tashkent State Medical University (Uzbekistan), Medical University of Innsbruck (Austria) provide educational internship and work placement for students of SamSMU. Students annually undertake their study placement at University of Greifswald (Germany) and the Ivoclar Vivadent company (USA).

Competitive advantages. Students master their dentistry skills and competencies by practicing on state-of-the-art national and imported equipment, using new technologies in the Training and Production Center of Simulation Education (II level).

Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. Foreign citizens are trained by the most experienced teachers. Each group of international students has a tutor who helps them with acute social, domestic, and other problems.
