Current position in rankings. RANEPA is the leader of the ranking of Russian higher education institutions in the field of state and municipal management compiled by Interfax, the independent news agency, in 2018.

Teaching staff. The professors of the institute are authors of numerous federal publications, winners of the annual all-Russian contest of educational programs and methodological support for personnel training in the field of municipal management organized by the All- Russian Council of Local Self-Government and the Fund for Sustainable Development.

Research. As part of the institute's research area "Legal support for management activity in the context of performance and development of civil society institutions" the department conducts research on the topic "Improving the system of interaction between state and municipal authorities and civil society institutions."

Education. The teaching staff widely uses state-of-the-art specialist IT products. The research and project teaching methods develop analytical and operational thinking, proactivity, responsibility, readiness for changes, an ability to focus on the result, leadership and communication skills.

Strategic partners. The Institute cooperates with the representatives of the real sector of economy, state and municipal authorities. They include the heads and employees of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Saratov Region, the Directorate of Human Resources Policy and State Service of the Government of the Saratov Region, the Council of Municipal Formations of the Saratov Region Association. Such cooperation forms the basis for constant actualization of cases of state and municipal management technologies.

International projects and programs. The teaching staff and students participate in international academic exchange programs with the universities of the USA, Hungary, Germany, and Slovakia.

Competitive advantages. The portfolio developed during the studies allows students to win scholarship contests held by large organizations. Students are annually awarded scholarships of the Russian Federation President and Government. Over 10,000 graduates are employed at federal and regional government agencies, hold managerial positions at commercial and non-profit organizations.
