HEI’s image. The mission of the Academy is to form intellectual, cultural and ethical capacities and skills in the sphere of medical science and health care based on international standards and national traditions of higher medical education.

According to the Russian Agency of Medical and Social Information the Academy is among “100 Best Russian HEIs”. Quality management system of the Academy is certified according to the requirements of MS ISO 9001:2008.

Programme presentation. The programme is implemented within one of the largest faculties of the Academy with a 96-year history of training health care specialists. The main task of the Faculty is to train highly-qualified and competitive specialists based on the best achievements of the national and world science, culture and health care system, who are able to address current issues in health care and who are in-demand in the health care market.

The level of competitive admission into the Faculty has reached 10.7 applicants per place.

Teaching staff. Historically formed medical and methodological schools play a great role in the realization of the Academy’s mission. A great amount of research is carried out in the interests of practical medicine in close cooperation with the RussianAcademy of Medical Sciences and the RussianAcademy of Natural Sciences. Among teachers are laureates of state prizes, Russian Federation Government Prize, Honoured Doctors of Russian Federation, Honoured workers of Higher School of Russian Federation. Academic mobility is developing: fellows of the Faculty teach in HEIs of Russia and other countries.

Competitiveness of students. According to the rating of the Unified State Examination the Academy ranks third among Russian medical institutions. Annually 10-12% of graduates get diplomas with high honours. Students successfully represent the Academy in national Olympiads in surgery, therapy, obstetrics and other disciplines. They also succeed in science – they publish their research papers and participate in different forums. Among students are scholarship holders of Russian Federation President, Russian Federation and the Voronezh Region Governments.

Every year the Academy organizes special student work experience in the German medical institution Charité (Berlin).

Interaction with employers. The Academy conducts regular monitoring of the results of the programme’s mastering among students, graduates and employers.
