HEI’s image. The principal mission of the Programme is forming competencies, based on the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education for the specialty “Dentistry”, which assures competitiveness of graduates of IzhevskStateMedicalAcademy in the national and international labour markets. The developed competencies are oriented to the requirements of people, society and the state and connected with the implementation of continuous education for the benefit of human health.

Programme presentation. The Programme is supplied with necessary academic and material resources. The Faculty of Dentistry has its own clinical base and uses policlinics and hospitals of Izhevsk city for training students. Students develop their skills in the homunculus classroom and the Practical Skills Centre of the Academy. Every student is provided with educational and research literature and has access to training aids in printed and electronic versions.

The Academy develops international cooperation with medical universities of Hungary and Poland in the sphere of students exchange.

Teaching staff. Over 80% of the teaching staff has academic and research titles. Average age of the teachers is 46. The highest level of the teaching staff is confirmed by the titles and prizes, which are won by the Academy’s teachers (prizes of the President of the Russian Federation, the Dental Association of Russia).

Competitiveness of students. Today the average admission grade for the applicants is 263 (for a state funded place) and 217 (for a paid place). For the last three years, 9 students of the Faculty have won federal Olympiads in different disciplines (Pathologic Physiology, Human Physiology, Organization of Public Health Service, Therapeutic Dentistry); 6 students hold scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Governor and Government of Udmurt Republic, scholarships of the Academy.

Interaction with employers. The educational programme “Dentistry” is implemented in cooperation with employers of the region. Employers participate in workshop, conferences, master-classes and competitions of professional skills.
