HEI’s image. Graduates of the Dentistry Faculty of USMU are highly employable in Russia. They practice in Yekaterinburg, the cities of the Ural Federal Region, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and abroad. Their professional interests are targeted at public health improvement by way of providing dental service of the highest quality.

Programme presentation. The educational process is implemented at a high IT level. Every student is provided with educational materials and has access to e-Learning resources. The faculty has its own dental clinic with 104 dental chairs, phantom-simulators, and 140 computers. The ResearchEducationalCenter in Fundamental Stomatology plays a major role in ensuring high quality of education.

The Dentistry Faculty offers post-graduate programmes, which give opportunities for further professional development. The faculty cooperates with leading foreign universities.

Teaching staff. The study process is conducted by highly qualified specialists with PhD degrees (80%); the average age of teachers is 45. The awards conferred by the President of the Russian Federation, Public Health Ministry, Russian Academy of Natural History and Russian Dental Association, testify to the high competency of the teaching staff.

Competitiveness of students. Only applicants, who have achieved high grades in the State Exams, are enrolled. In 2013 the passing score at the faculty was 264 out of 300 max. Future dentists undertake international internship, and participate in professional skills contests. Among students there are the Russian Federation President Scholarship, and the Russian Federation Government Grant holders.

Interaction with employers. The Degree programme is approved and reviewed by the regional employers. The leading professionals in Dentistry of the Ural region participated in the development of the educational programme. The University and the partners hold events of national and international levels – congresses, research conferences, master classes, and professional skills contests (3M ESPE, Dentsply, Sirona, Tokuyama Dental, Shofu Dental, GlaxoSmithKline, Colgate, Oral-B, DRC Group et al.).
