Join the international media project
To date, a great many countries with a developed higher education system have adopted strategic documents and set up essential quantitative and qualitative parameters for the development of education export. This current world trend gained momentum in the Republic of Kazakhstan as well – in August 2017, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the National export strategy for 2018-2022, and the Education segment was included in the list of the potential “export basket”. The country's education export potential is also emphasized: the document states that Kazakhstan is able to train 170, 000 foreign students.
According to the leading international experts, Higher Education internationalization and its informational transparency are absolutely interrelated processes. This is also confirmed by the survey of HEIs' international services conducted by Russian company “Accreditation in Education” in the frame of its international media project “Higher Education Discovery” (HED) in 2017. Thus, only 3.7% of respondents chose the answer option “international partners can find us independently”.
The vast majority (over 96%) stated that it is necessary to develop and adopt effective strategies of active search for HEIs-potential international partners. In other words, today we can observe intensive development of proactive university internationalization policy ensured by informational transparency which is deployed by hundreds of HEIs in different countries. Interesting fact, despite the diversity of national conditions and educational policies HEIs' international services, wherever they are located, often have the coinciding hierarchies of information interests, tools, criteria and goals. Moreover, they often have to face similar problems.
Respectively, to support the development of international academic cooperation and higher education internationalization using state-of-the-art media tools, to identify leading universities in the sphere of informational transparency and to disseminate best practices of media promotion, the Russian company “Accreditation in Education” implements the international media project “Informationally transparent HEI. International level” The project is intended to allow participating HEIs to evaluate the level of development of their units responsible for the implementation of the university internationalization policy and its media support, to assess their achievements in this sphere, and to state the tasks for further development.
The project consists of three steps. International education advertising website hedclub.com is the working Internet platform. The results of the project will be announced and the finalists will meet at the international university conference 'Informational transparency of higher school: media strategies of HEIs promotion at the national and global levels' (Russia, Moscow, April 2019).
