Eurasian economic outlook: development in the context of global changes

Saint Petersburg State University of Economics held the VI International forum "Eurasian Economic Outlook" in Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library with support from OJSC International Development Corporation. The event was co-organized by the Saint Petersburg City Administration and the Eurasian Universities Association.
The main theme of the VI International forum "Eurasian Economic Outlook" was strengthening cooperation between Eurasian countries in the context of global changes.
The meeting brought together legislative and executive power representatives from the Eurasian Economic Union – Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan as well as the members of the Eurasian Economic Commission, scientists and experts from leading HEIs of the Eurasian Universities Association, economists, politicians, social activists and business people. The specialists from Germany and China were also present.
The business program started with a plenary session with welcome letters from Сhairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and Alexander Beglov, Interim Governor of St. Petersburg.
Igor Maximtsev, Rector of Saint Petersburg State University of Economics gave a detailed account of the Forum's primary goals: "The main focus is put on the interaction within the boundaries of the Eurasian Economic Union. This applies especially to the field of humanities – we understand that the future success of the Eurasian Economic Union is hardly possible without our universities and students' involvement."
Igor Maximtsev also highlighted that interest in the Forum from different authorities grows every year. This makes it possible to have a deeper insight into raising challenges and find more effective and smart solutions.
Keeping common cultural traditions and unleashing Eurasian peoples' national talents is one of the main priorities. Deputy Head of the CIS Executive Board Sergey Ivanov dedicated his speech to the following subject: "The enormous changes in the world that have been going on over the last decade lead us to act concerted in order to assure sustainable development of economic security. Today it is important to make integration processes more efficient, stimulate networking. It is also important to keep a common cultural and humanitarian space, develop the integrated educational system for top-management and open a full potential of our people."
In his turn, Eurasian Economic Union Judge Alexander Fedortsov noted that Eurasian countries' aspiration to converge compels the whole world's attention: " Eurasian integration potentiality is proven by dramatically increased interest from numerous countries: China, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, South Korea are only some countries from the list of our leading trade partners."
The plenary session of the VI International forum "Eurasian Economic Outlook" was followed by five round tables: "Parliamentary and international interaction in the mega-region "Greater Eurasia""; "Humanitarian basics of cooperation in member states of the Eurasian Union: development of a common system of values"; "Global challenges of the modern world and development prospects of Eurasian and international law"; "Eurasian economic integration: implementation of development priorities in the context of global changes"; "Youth in the development of Eurasian integration."
One of the key events was signing of the agreement for the establishment of the network customs university at the premises of the Eurasian Network University.
