Awards and achievements of the educational program. As a result of the survey among the professional community carried out by the Centre for Public Accreditation and the editorial personnel of the Accreditation in Education journal the program was top ranked within the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

PEDIATRICS, DENTISTRY 

Teaching staff. About 350 Candidates of Medical Sciences, 100 Doctors of Sciences,

Professors, including nationally and regionally recognized doctors and researchers, holders of the national, regional and governmental awards in science.

University partners within the educational program. Medical higher education institutions and faculties included in the research and education medical cluster of the North Caucasus Federal District.

Students and alumni’s achievements. A student team of the faculty took the third place in the fifth all-Russian student olympiad “Gold MedSkill 2017,” Dzh. Ragimova, Z. Mutaeva, S. Kerimova, and T. Suleimanova won the regional round of all-Russian contest “Best Student of 2016,” students S. Farmanova and E. Velieva were awarded grants. The most successful alumni of the faculty include A.F. Serenko, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the USSR; N.A. Agadzhanian, Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR; R.P. Askerkhanov, T.M. Darbinian, and S.-M.A. Omarov, Corresponding Members of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR and the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences; I.A. Shamov and V.I. Knysh, holders of the national award in science; K.M. Abdulkadyrov, Director of the Haematology and Transfusiology Clinic under the Research Institute of Haematology and Transfusiology; A. Aliev, a five-time world champion in freestyle wrestling; M. Aratsilov, a silver prize winner of the Olympic Games; M. Isaeva, a prize winner of the Olympic Games.

Facilities and resources. The research and education laboratory facilities of the university are adequate and sufficient for the program delivery. The students of the faculty get access to the most advanced diagnostic equipment at the university clinics. The faculty has a center of simulating education and virtual medicine. There are modern sport facilities including a playground with artificial turf.

Opportunities for students. Students obtain their hand-on experience at the clinical healthcare facilities, municipal dental clinics, regional medical and preventive treatment facilities. They also do their internships in the near and far abroad: Belarus (Minsk, Vitebsk), Azerbaijan (Baku), Kazakhstan (Astana), Slovenia, and China. The program is delivered in English for international students.

Employment prospects. Therapist, surgeon, obstetrician-gynaecologist, infectiologist, eye specialist, oto-rhyno-laryngologist, urinologist, dermatovenerologist, oncologist, anesthesiologist, phthisiologist, radiologist, and others.
