GENERAL MEDICINE, PEDIATRICS  

University partners within the educational program. The dental research and education medical cluster of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, the North Caucasus research and education medical cluster of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, the Dental Association of Russia.

Students and alumni’s achievements. In 2015 student G. Kurbanov won the all-Russian dental olympiad organized by I.M.SechenovFirstMoscowStateMedicalUniversity; student M. Zainutdinova won the all-Russian student olympiad with international participation in the category “Preventive Dentistry” organized by A.I. Evdakimov Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry. In 2017 student A. Alimirzoev won the all-Russian student olympiad in the category “Pedicatric Dentistry” organized by the same institution. Professor T.I. Ibragimov, the faculty alumni, is the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Dagestan; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor S.I. Abakarov currently chairs the Department of Dental Orthopedics and General Dentistry and is employed as a Dean of the Dentistry Faculty at the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education.

Facilities and resources. The research and study laboratory facilities of the university are adequate and sufficient for the program delivery, at the clinics students get access to the most advanced diagnostic equipment. The students enrolled in the faculty do their practical training sessions at the Republican Dental Clinic named after M.M. Maksudov, Dormitory No.3, the first Municipal Dental Clinic, the Republican Pediatric Dental Clinic, the RepublicanClinicalHospital.

Opportunities for students. Students obtain their hand-on experience at the clinical healthcare facilities, municipal dental clinics, regional medical and preventive treatment facilities. They also do their internships in Belarus (Minsk, Vitebsk), Azerbaijan (Baku), Kazakhstan (Astana), Slovenia, and China.

Employment prospects. Dental therapist (cariology, periodontology, endodontics, aesthetic stomatology), orthopedist, dental surgeon (implantology, maxillofacial surgery), orthodontist, pediatric therapist (pediatric therapeutic dentistry, pediatric surgical dentistry).
