At the moment there is a high demand for innovative solutions and state-of-the-art technologies in the Near East. Thus, the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030 developed by the Government of the United Arab Emirates is aimed at strengthening the education standards, increasing the scope of investigation and developing new educational programs which are more focused on promotion of employment. The country is planning to develop such new educational programs in conjunction with business. Educational organizations also show great interest in transfer of educational technologies.
The government takes expansionary measures to increase attractiveness of investment climate in в the UAE. There are two free economic zones: “the Dubai Silicon Oasis in the Emirate of Dubai” and “the twofour54 in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi – Mediazone” where startups can get an access to financing, training and consulting (including incubator services). The focus is put on the companies working in the field of TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) and EdTech.
The private sector share in the UAE school system is predominant. Almost 80% of schoolchildren study at private schools in the programs from the USA, Great Britain and France. The Ministry of Education of the UAE has just started developing its own educational programs so the demand for technologies and guidance papers is extremely high.
