Awards and achievements of the educational program. The program was accredited by the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Career Development (AKKORK). The quality of the program was also reviewed for compliance with the standards and criteria of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). Since 2012 the program has been top ranked in the framework of the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.

Teaching staff. The teaching staff involved in the program delivery include Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Science, prominent scientists and holders of the titles of Honored Doctors of the Russian Federation, Honored Workers of the Russian Higher Education, government award holders, winners of G.F. Lang, V.N. Tatishchev, V.I. de Genin prizes. Nearly 75% of the teaching staff hold academic degrees and titles. The faculty is proud of its methodological school.

University partners within the educational program. In 2015 the University was included in the Ural Research and Education Medical Cluster with other universities of the Ural Federal District. In 2016 research and educational institutions including Ural Federal University, the Bonum Research and Practical Medical Center, the non-commercial partnership Ural Biomedical Cluster and the institutions of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Science made up the Ural Research and Education Consortium of Biomedicine, Pharmacy and Medical Engineering in order to design, promote and put into practice the latest technological advances.

Students’ achievements. Students take an active part and win in university, regional, national and international contests and olympiads in paediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology. Supported by the UMNIK and START national grant programs, students carry out projects in biotechnology, contemporary materials and technology, medicine of the future. The best students annually win scholarships awarded by the President and the Government of the Russian Federation for academic excellence.

Facilities and resources. Students’ training is organized at the most advanced healthcare institutions, specialized medical centers, and research institutes. The classrooms are equipped with computers, multimedia and demonstration facilities. Information and education technology, e-learning resources, simulators, virtual environment and phantoms are extensively used in the educational process. Non-resident students are accommodated in dormitories.

Opportunities for students. In the framework of the IFMSA program students take part in academic mobility and do research. Students also do their practical training abroad. They regularly present in international conferences in China, Italy, Serbia, Thailand, Poland, Portugal, Brazil, and Montenegro.

Employment prospects. Pediatrician. Upon completing a medical residency course the graduates may continue as pediatric cardiologists, pediatric surgeons, pediatric endocrinologists, neonatologists, and others.
