Awards and achievements of the educational program. The program was top ranked in the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia in 2014-2016.

GENERAL MEDICINE, DENTISTRY  

Teaching staff. Twelve Doctors of Sciences, Professors, and 150 Candidates of Sciences are involved in the program delivery including nationally and regionally recognized doctors and researchers, holders of the national, regional and governmental awards in science.

University partners within the educational program. The North Caucasus research and education cluster of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, the Union of Pediatricians of Russia.

Students and alumni’s achievements. The faculty alumni are employed in top administrative positions: Professor I.M. Osmanov, ex-Deputy Director of Moscow Research Institute of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, currently employed as Medical Director of Moscow Tushinskaya Pediatric Hospital; A.A. Alikhanov, Head of the diagnostic center of the Russian pediatric clinical hospital in Moscow, Professor of the Department of Nephrology at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University; B.M. Makhachev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Medical Director of the pediatric republican clinical hospital. Sh. Akhmedova, a five-year student, was ranked 24th in the all-Russian student research conference “Actual Issues of Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation of Children.” M. Magomedov, currently enrolled in the program, a world champion in pancratium, a two-time world champion in mix fight and a multiple champion of Dagestan in combat sambo; S. Akhmedov, a multiple champion of Russia, Eurasia and Dagestan in personal combat; S. Babakhanova, a champion of the South Federal District and North Caucasus Federal District in student chess, a winner and grant holder of the contest “Best Student of Dagestan 2016,” a winner of the university contest “Group Leader,” Z. Turkieva, a six-year student, a multiple winner of international, national and regional research conferences.

Facilities and resources. All the departments of the university are adequately equipped for the program delivery. Study manuals and guidance books are also in sufficient quantity.

Opportunities for students. Students of the faculty are actively involved in research work, take part in student research conferences, analyse archive materials, write literature reviews, summary papers. Students gain their hands-on experience at municipal and regional pediatric hospitals: N.M.KuraevPediatricClinicalHospital, Pediatric Hospital No.1, S.M. Magomedov Republican Center of Infectious Diseases, Pediatric Policlinics No.1, No.2, No.3, No.4. Students graduating from the Pediatric Faculty may retrain as healthcare specialists.

Employment prospects. Pediatric physician. Upon completing their medical residency, students may specialize in different fields of pediatrics, therapy and surgery.
