The National Aggregate Ranking of Russian Universities

Vladimir Navodnov, Director of the National Centre for Public Accreditation, has presented the National Aggregate Ranking created by the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the Accreditation in Education Journal.

The ranking includes 721 Russian universities (ten leagues) with only 38 to enter the Premier League.
The ranking is an aggregator of generally recognized Russian rankings. The methodology is based on 8 rankings that meet the requirements of publicity (full information is available in the public domain), stability (there are at least three years), mass (at least 100 universities are evaluated) and periodicity (evaluation is carried out annually).

According to the ranking compilers, a new approach to evaluation of all universities' performance was first proposed. It is based on the objectivity maximization principle taking into account/aggregating all known evaluation systems (both state and independent systems), and the 'soft' mathematical methods were used for the first time to minimize the drawbacks of individual evaluation systems.
