Current position in rankings. The university was ranked 39th in the international ranking of Russian universities of the European Scientific Industrial Chamber ARES in 2018 (41th in 2017); 46th among the best Russian universities according to the rating agency RAEX ("Expert RA") in 2018 (50th in 2017).

Achievements and awards. The Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Centre for Public Accreditation recognized the program as one of the best as part of the annual project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia in 2014, 2016, 2017.

Teaching staff. Training is provided by 20 theoretical and clinical departments. The teaching staff includes seven Doctors of Sciences, Professors, 16 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors, 18 Candidates of Sciences, Assistants. They are highly qualified specialists, many of them combine teaching and career in the field of practical healthcare of the Samara Region.

Facilities and resources. There are specially equipped lecture halls, a self-access center, a computer classroom with internet access, a classroom with a special multimedia projection complex, two specialized university laboratories, a research laboratory, three specialized libraries, two specialized gyms.                   

Research. Students can join a scientific circle to conduct research and implement projects in the following areas: quality of life in patients with different pathologies, quality of medical staff's work life, specialists' labor potential.

Education. The university applies active and interactive forms of classes such as visualization lectures, conference lectures, business role-playing games (educational games), round tables.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky, Orenburg State Medical University, Ryazan State Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov, Kazan State Medical University.

Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. In cooperation with West Kazakhstan High Medicine College in Uralsk the university offers the following majors: Innovations in Nursing Care; Organization of Health Schools; Team Training in Emergency Medical Care.
