Current position in rankings. SaratovStateMedicalUniversity is included in Top 100 higher education institutions of the Russian Federation according to the RAEX agency ("Expert RA"). It was ranked 144th among 387 universities in the ranking TOP UNIVERSITIES IN RUSSIA by 2017 University Web Ranking; 34th among 83 medical HEIs (and 70th among 424 in the total ranking) in the state-funded enrollment quality ranking; 5th among 67 best state HEIs of the Russian Federation in the ranking compiled by Russia Today, the international news agency.

Achievements and awards. The program successfully underwent state and professional-public accreditation in 2016 and 2017. The quality management system has been certified in the EvroTransObrSertifika (ETOS) voluntary certification system since October 28, 2016.

Teaching staff. Fifty departments are engaged in the educational process. Over 65% of teachers have an academic degree, 15% of them are Doctors of Sciences.

Facilities and resources. Students have access to the electronic educational portal and the electronic library system "Students' Consultant." The university has an anatomy museum, two anatomy rooms, a dissecting room; the laboratories of biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology; a training and accreditation center. The clinical departments have well-equipped consulting and imaging rooms.

Research. The main research area is maternal and child health protection: fundamental scientific and clinical aspects of etiopathogenesis and creation of innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies; specialized care and disease-prevention services for children with infectious and non-infectious diseases.

Education. The teachers use active simulation and non-simulation teaching methods, context-based learning, partially-searching and research teaching methods.

International projects and programs. To implement academic mobility programs, the university established the local committee of the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA). The university participates in student exchange with partner universities: Vitebsk State Medical university, West Kazakhstan StateMedicalUniversity. Twice a year students can participate in the work of international practical schools as part of the program of the Russian-Chinese Association of Medical Universities (RCAMU).

Competitive advantages. The university has its own clinical multidisciplinary facility and the well-equipped training and accreditation center, the leading scientific schools for pediatrics, infectious diseases in children, pediatric surgery.
