Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 408 teachers including 62 Doctors of Sciences and 200 Candidates of Sciences. The faculty consists of 10 departments, five of which have clinical specialization. The teaching staff also includes 65 highly professional practical healthcare workers: medical directors and their deputies, heads of departments of the inpatient and outpatient clinics.
Facilities and resources. The university has its own children's hospital, pediatric classrooms in the virtual learning hospital including pediatric simulators, phantom and computer classrooms, classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment.
Research is conducted in various areas of pediatrics. The research topic "Creation of the system of early detection and prevention of renal injury in children with obesity of different etiology" received state support and was one of four research topics in the state assignments for VSMU named after N.N. Burdenko for 2018-2020.
Education. Besides conventional methods, the university introduces and applies innovative teaching methods including objective structured written attestation, IT technologies, flipped learning, and others.
Strategic partners. The university cooperates with the National Scientific and Practical Center of Children’s Health of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University and other medical universities of the Russian Federation; the faculties of pediatrics of medical universities of Belarus and Tajikistan, Charité - Medical University of Berlin. The university annually invites leading specialists in various areas of medicine from the universities of Europe and the
International projects and programs. The departments constantly participate in international clinical studies (IV phase) in the field of pulmonology, nephrology, neurology. In 2018 E.N. Kulakova, Associate Professor at the Department of Inpatient and Outpatient Pediatrics, took the second place in the online competition organized by the International Society of Nephrology.
