The National Centre for Public Accreditation has become a full member of ENQA
The Council of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) confirmed the full membership status of the National Centre for Public Accreditation (NCPA) for the next five years after it had successfully undergone external evaluation with the participation of leading European experts in the field of quality assurance.
"The Council concluded that NCPA meets the standards and recommendations for quality assurance of higher education in the European area and, thus, meets the criteria for full membership in ENQA. In general, the Council highly appreciates the efforts of the agency to meet the standards and recommendations to promote European standards of higher education quality in Russia", ENQA President Dr. Christoph Grolimund noted in a cover letter.
Full membership of the Russian accreditation agency in the European Association for Quality Assurance promotes the integration of the Russian higher education system into the European education area, provides an opportunity for Russian universities to undergo internationally recognized accreditation in a Russian agency, and promotes their positioning in the European and global education area.
According to Professor Vladimir Navodnov, Director of NCPA, the status of a full member of a European organization for the Russian accreditation agency is a “soft power” mechanism that promotes competitiveness, internationalization and the export potential of Russian higher education. Recognition of the quality of the agency’s activities means, first of all, recognition of the quality of the educational programs and universities accredited by the agency at the international level.
