Contributions of Higher Education to Society and Economy: Global, National and Local Perspectives
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 10th Anniversary International Russian Higher Education Conference (RHEC) that will take place in Moscow at the HSE University on October 23–25, 2019.
The media partners of the Conference are Accreditation in Education Company and Higher Education Discovery.
Keynote Speakers: Simon Marginson (Oxford University, UK), Mitchell Stevens (Stanford University, USA)
The Conference will offer a vibrant international forum for academics, strategists, institutional leaders, etc. to share opinions and explore multiple perspectives in how higher education contributes to various socioeconomic domains.
The Conference working languages are Russian and English; simultaneous interpretation will be provided during plenary and several parallel sessions.
The Conference organisers invite researchers and experts to discuss the contributions of higher education with a special focus on the following key topics and questions:
What are graduate pathways to the labour market? How to bridge the gap between college outcomes and changing labour market needs? How do the rates of returns on investment in higher education change over time?
What are the consequences of higher education internalisation? How to attract and retain international students? What is the impact of internalisation on national and local levels? What are the costs of brain drain?
How and to a what extent do academic and social experiences at university shape life trajectories? What are the effective practices for the improvement of student success?
How to define and measure research academic excellence and productivity in academia? What are the main challenges that doctoral programs face today worldwide? What are career tracks of PhD holders?
How do universities benefit wider society and culture? Can higher education institutions promote social and economic equality/equity?
What is the role of universities in regional socio-economic development? What are the best instruments to facilitate universities' third mission?
Submissions on other topics closely connected to the Conference theme are welcomed.
Working languages are Russian and English.
Each abstract should be up to 500 words (without References) and include:
