The delegation of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China visited the Republic of Belarus

During the two day visit to the Republic of Belarus, the Chinese delegation participated in the ffifth session of the commission on cooperation in education of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation.  

The following documents were signed to build mutually beneficial relations at a new qualitative level: 

  • Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the mutual recognition of diplomas and academic degrees
  • Agreement between A.S. Pushkin Brest State University, Anhui University and the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) on the establishment of the Confucius Institute at Brest State University.

Time goes on, the situation changes, relations develop, including the field of education. The year 2019 has been declared the Year of Education of the Republic of Belarus in China. Active cooperation has been established at all levels between universities of the two countries.

“For more than 25 years diplomatic relations between our countries have been developing . We have a number of agreements in the field of mutual recognition of documents on education. But time goes on, the situation changes, relations develop, including the field of education. You know that the year 2019 has been declared the Year of Education of the Republic of Belarus in China. Active cooperation has been established at all levels between universities of the two countries. An agreement between the governments of the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China on the mutual recognition of education certificates and academic degrees will promote the development of academic exchanges not only at the level of students, but at the level of the faculty as well, "- said Igor Karpenko.

Meetings with Belarusian and Chinese students studying at Belarusian higher educational institutions were held during the visit.

The sixth meeting of the Commission will be held in the People’s Republic of China in 2020.
