The Institute of Geology of Kazan Federal University discussed the further international strategy
The Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University held the meeting of the Board of directors of the Insitute with Olga Vershinina, Director of the Department for External Relations of KFU.
Throughout the conversation with Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director, Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing and Mikhail Varfolomeev, Manager of the ''Environmental Oil'' priority area, Head of the Department of development and operation of deposits of hard-to-recover hydrocarbons, the strategic areas of international cooperation of the Institute were discussed.
''A great number of international educational and research projects implemented at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies and their further development and expansion will require joint efforts of the institute and the Department for External Relations. During the meeting with Olga Vershinina we have defined a new pattern of interaction between the Department for External Relations of KFU and the structural divisions'', noted Ildus Chukmarov.
At the meeting the major projects implemented by the Institute in Cuba were discussed: Cupet's personnel improvement at the Supplementary Education Center, quality management and marketing, the planned retraining program ''Рetroleum Engineering'' for the company's specialists which will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
''Export of educational services is one of priority areas for KFU as a participant of the priority project ''Development of the Export Potential of the Russian education system''.
Today the university is one of the leaders by the number of foreign students (in academic year 2018/2019 KFU enrolls over 7,000 foreign students). At this stage the university's task is not only to increase the number of foreign students but also to attract talented students from abroad and diversify the range of educational products. Now one of important vectors of the university performance will be an increase in enrollment in Master's programs and supplementary professional education programs, and here the Institute has a good reserve and growth potential'', noted Olga Vershinina.
Besides, the plans for 2019 were considered: signing of cooperation agreement in January 2019 between KFU and the largest Indian state petroleum corporation ONGC in India; cooperation in the field of training staff for petroleum enterprises of China, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Latin American countries.
Mikhail Varfolomeev shared the results of his visit to Oman where a number of agreements was signed with the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the country, the largest upstream company in Oman - Petroleum Development Oman and Sultan Qaboos University.
